New York City

You can feel an undeniable energy as soon as you enter the city. Even though this was my first visit to New York, I quickly understood why people resonated so much with this place and why I had only heard such great things.

I was lucky enough to be guided by friends who live in Manhattan and know the ins and outs of the city, making it a very homely and interesting trip. There was definitely a sense of comfort in being surrounded by so many open-minded and driven individuals—the conversations, advice, and proactiveness I was shown are truly a testament to those who live there, and I feel extremely inspired and drawn to the city after my trip.

A highlight was a night spent at the Opera, where we saw a performance of La Boheme. It was a beautiful production alongside the surroundings of the impressive architecture of the Metropolitan Opera House.

I made my way around the city, uncovering the impressive architecture of monuments like The New York Public Library, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Grand Central Station.

My stay was perfectly timed in the season of Fall, with the weather still not completely cold yet, and with Halloween shortly approaching - it really felt so cosy and homely being immersed in the best season there is.

A favourite way I chose to spend my days here was to choose a neighbourhood, go there, and wander. One of my favourite New York neighbourhoods for this is the West Village, Soho, as well as the adjoining Greenwich Village.

There are endless things to do and see, and the ambience created by the leafy parks, historic architecture, cobbled streets, and cosy coffee spots makes the local experiences even more enjoyable.

New York is somewhere I had always dreamt of visiting. My expectations were exceeded, as I truly fell in love with this city's excitement and unique offerings.
